Sign Permit Request Form
Send us the address and sign type. You get scope, cost and timeline back within one business day.
Fast sign permit approval starts with good inputs
What to send, and what we do with it
You do not need all of this. The first two items are enough to get a useful answer.
The full street address
This is the single most important input. The address determines the jurisdiction, the zoning district, any overlay, and whether a state highway or historic designation is in play.
The sign type and size
Channel letters, cabinet, monument, pylon, awning, window vinyl, electronic message center — and rough dimensions if you have them. A photo of the storefront helps more than you would think.
Artwork or elevations, if they exist
Even a rough sketch. We check proposed sign area against the local allowance before anything gets fabricated, which is where most rejections are avoided.
Landlord or tenant sign criteria
If the property has a sign criteria document or a lease exhibit covering signage, send it. Many jurisdictions require written landlord consent, and criteria are often stricter than the code.
Your target install date
Tells us whether the normal path works or whether we need to look at expedited review, phased permitting or a temporary sign in the interim.
Contractor and licensing details
Who is installing, and whether they hold the licenses that municipality requires. Some jurisdictions will not accept an application without a locally licensed sign contractor named on it.
What happens next
From your form submission to a filed application
Within one business day
A permit specialist reviews your address, identifies the reviewing authority and comes back with an initial read on feasibility, fees and timeline.
You approve the scope
Jurisdiction fees and our flat service fee are quoted separately and in writing. Nothing is filed and nothing is billed until you say go.
We prepare and file
Package assembled, drawings checked against the code, landlord approvals and licensing gathered, then submitted the way that office requires.
We follow it through
Plan review comments answered, resubmittals handled, status visible on the tracker, and the approved permit sent to you with any inspection requirements spelled out.
Sign permit form questions
Before you fill it in
Is the assessment really free?
Yes. Identifying the jurisdiction and giving you a realistic read on feasibility, fees and timeline costs you nothing and carries no obligation. We would rather tell you honestly that a sign is a hard permit than take on a file that was going to disappoint you.
How fast can you get a permit approved?
Our part moves in days; the jurisdiction’s part is theirs to control. What we influence is the number of review cycles, and filing a complete, code-compliant package first time is the difference between two weeks and two months. Where a jurisdiction offers expedited or over-the-counter review, we will tell you whether your project qualifies.
Do you need a signed contract before you start?
For the free assessment, no — just the address. Before we file anything we will have a written scope and fee approval from you, because municipal fees are non-refundable once paid.
What if I only need one permit?
That is fine. Single permits are welcome and priced the same flat way. Plenty of long-term clients started with one difficult jurisdiction they did not want to learn.
